Clondalkin as a Fairtrade town

MEETING OF CLONDALKIN AREA COMMITTEE

MOTION NO. 8

MOTION: Councillor F. Timmons

That the Area Committee supports Clondalkin as a Fairtrade town and will actively seek to promote Fairtrade throughout the Clondalkin area. The Area Committee calls on SDCC to give €300 for Banners that will promote Clondalkin as a Fairtrade town and recognise that Clondalkin is now a Fairtrade town.

REPORT:

It is understood that Clondalkin has achieved fairtrade status. Consideration will be given to how to appropriately promote this in consultation with the Chamber of Commerce and Tidy towns Committee and in the context of the village improvement scheme for the village. This will be rolled out in line with the village improvement and the overall signage strategy for the County.
