MOTION: Councillor F. Timmons
That the area committee congratulate and commend the tremendous work of all the Tidy Town entrants from all parts of the Clondalkin area and agree that a local awards system should be looked at for the area.
REPORT:
The Tidy Towns groups in the Clondalkin and North Clondalkin area scored very well in the recent Tidy Towns Competition and both achieved a significant increase in marks in 2014.
The impact of the work of the groups can be seen in the area and this leads to more residents getting involved and developing a pride in the local area.

Members will be aware that in the past the Council organised a Countywide competition ‘Beautiful South Dublin County’. The competition provided the Council with an opportunity to publicly thank and acknowledge the great effort put in by communities in striving to improve their local areas. However for resource reasons this event has not been held in recent years.
If the motion is passed the Council will arrange to pass on congratulations and commendation to the groups concerned.
