QUESTION: Councillor F. Timmons
To ask the Chief Executive for an update of how many houses are needed to be built in the Clondalkin area in order to deal with the housing shortage in this area and to confirm how many are on council housing list in the Clondalkin area? To give a breakdown of housing requests with the area and priorities stated? To provide all available information so as to aid the upcoming planning on the Clonburris Lands / SDZ meetings.
REPLY:
There are presently 4,964 applications on the Council’s Housing List who have indicated a preference for housing ‘North of the Naas Road’. This comprises of dwelling size as below:-
1 BEDROOM | 2 BEDROOM | 3 BEDROOM | 4 BEDROOM |
1391 | 2190 | 1244 | 139 |
Within the above data there is a requirement for 83 dwellings on medical grounds. Approximately 84 dwellings become available for re-letting North of the Naas Road on an annual basis.
