“To ask the Chief Executive for an update report on the Round Tower Heritage centre and request a site visit? also to commend the work done so far.”
REPLY:
Work on the Visitor Centre commenced at the end of May 2016 and is progressing well, largely in accordance with the programme. The construction works contract is programmed for completion by the end of the first quarter of next year.
Archaeological excavations on-site have been completed and ongoing monitoring of the relevant parts of the works is taking place in accordance with requirements set by the Department of Arts Heritage and the Gaeltacht.
