MOTION NO. 11

MOTION: Councillor F. Timmons

That South Dublin County Council support the Travelling community as being recognised as an Ethnic Minority. We ask the Government to act on this motion.

REPORT:

The issue of the granting of ethnic status to members of the Travelling community is currently being considered by the Minister for Justice and Equality. The motion, if agreed, will be forwarded on to the Minister for her consideration.
